It is highly recommended to check your Visa policy and it's possible updates in advance.
Please, check that the passport is valid at least for 6 months after your trip to Russia, and has two empty pages (without any stamps, messages, etc.) facing each other. Also, if you plan to apply for a visa in a country that is not the country of your citizenship, you must also have a valid residence permit in the country of residence.

It is online, fast, easy, and free of charge. Invitations, hotel booking confirmations or any other documents to confirm the purpose of a trip to Russia is not required. It is not necessary to submit specific travel dates or vehicle information neither.
You and your accompanying person can apply online for a single-entry visa, and it lets you stay in Saint-Petersburg for up to 8 days starting from the date of entry (for example June 30 - July 7, June 29 - July 6). An applicant should fill in the application form (carefully!) on the website not earlier than 20 days and no later than 4 days before the intended date of entry. Applicants receive a confirmation email within 4 days. A passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of applying an e-visa.

Saint-Petersburg will host four matches of the UEFA EURO 2020. It is written there, that the next ticket application window opens in April. Once you get a ticket, you can apply for a FAN ID Along with your passport, it allows you to enter Russia without a visa. So multiple entries are possible between 30 May and 3 July 2020. You can then leave Russia anytime between 30 May and 13 July 2020.
